Minutes from the meeting held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Ocean County Library, Toms
River Branch:
Kim Corso opened the meeting at 6:20 PM and welcomed everyone.
Kim stated that her goals for her two years are to increase membership, and participation
Inspirational message: Kim Corso “The Tale of the Pencil”
A motion was made to accept the minutes of the March 21, 2024, meeting. The motion was
accepted by Erin and seconded by Kathy
A motion was made to accept the minutes of the May 15, 2024, meeting. The motion was
accepted by JoAnne and seconded by Marlene
Treasurer's Report electronically submitted by Lucille Ziegler. The proposed budget was also
sent electronically. Motion to accept made by Judy and seconded by Barbara
Kim mentioned that we dropped three members – Mallory Kennedy, Tami Kosinski, and Lynne
Fenton. Also, Carol Diszazzio (Carol D’Zio)– reserved member
Kim read a thank you letter sent to Arlene from former sister Rita Herbert- Current member
Rita Herber
JoAnne Applegate presented Erin Byers with her Rose Award Certificate and Pin. This year the
Key award will be presented to a retired sister. There is also a Rose Bud Award being presented
to one individual that has been with DKG for 10 years or less.
Arlene Newman - Program Planning - presented her notes from the State Convention
Committee meeting. There will be better programs this year at . Convention. Zeta voted on First
Ladies, The Women, and Becoming Madame Secretary as choices for the convention book
discussions
A catered Holiday Meeting will be held at Missy Miller’s home on Dec 12.

Barbara Schaller – Membership – asked to initiate 5 new members. Erin Byer made a brochure
promoting Zeta Chapter. Would like to distribute to schools to help invite new members to
DKG.
Sue - Convention – looked for new convention centers, but the cost is prohibitive. When you
order food at Convention, you must eat that meal. There will be a regular gift auction. (Baskets
- 2 small $25 each & 1 large $100) - Sisters Talent Showcase will also be presented.
Nominations – Seeking nominations for executive board members – Bios needed online
Jen Goodwin - Newsletter - Jen needs information for member spotlights. Give her ideas -
anything - she can write something up.
Book Smiles - 100 books were collected and distributed
Internet release forms. Jan Paxton sent a google doc. Email Kim when it is done.
Collecting Gift Card at holiday party for Christmas Donations
Motion was made to close the meeting by JoAnne at 6:59 PM and seconded by Jen.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department presented a program on Drones in Ocean County.
